During the ‘unprecedented’ time of COVID-19 and national lockdown, Trident Hospitality has looked at how to do things a little different to normal.
It was important to us that we could offer help and support to our partner venues across the country during the crisis and amid all the confusion. We also wanted to prepare our clients in looking ahead and getting ready for the ‘new normal’. Whatever that might actually mean!
Tea with Trident
Throughout lockdown, Trident hosted exclusive weekly webinars for partner venues to join in. These included ‘Tea with Trident’ events, a time for networking and informal chats with major players in the industry. The webinars have provided a fantastic space for venues to share stories, support each other and catch up on the latest guidance and news.
Agency guests who featured in the Tea with Trident series to provide expert advice, included: Ellis Salsby, Arrange My, Brief2Event, Venues & Events International, Conference Care, Top Banana, Inntel, AIEA/Cloud 9,Choice Locations, Magnifisense and Bien Venue. With ‘special’ virtual appearances from Mia Butler (Pistachio View), Rose McDonald (The Smart Training Company) and Emma Cartmell – (CHS Group).
Trident also organised our partner venues to meet virtually on a regular basis without our facilitation, to swap ideas and work together during lockdown. Martin and Kevan at Trident were even invited to take part as guests at a Sheer Edge digital forum and also the Scottish Hoteliers webinar, which provided a great chance to catch up with others North of the border.
Nicole Parker, Conference and Events Manager, Robinson College Cambridge, said: ‘I have very much enjoyed your Trident Zoom sessions. It has been great to talk to agents on a more informal basis and also it’s been really good to build up much stronger relationships with other venues than I think would be possible with normal networking.
“It has also been nice to have a more social session in my diary each week to look forward to when working from home. Many thanks to Trident for organising them!”
Virtual Drop Ins
Following the CHS Show being cancelled, Trident hosted a virtual drop-in with Emma from the CHS Group on July 7th (the date of original show) to try and recapture lost opportunities from the event. Guests were able to catch up on business and the situation at hand, sharing advice on best practice and future plans to reopen safely once given the government go-ahead.
Samantha Martin, Business Development Manager at Wyboston Lakes Resort, said of our Trident webinars: “I think it has been really useful to get the venues together throughout this time and see how others are getting on.
“Thanks for organising the agent calls too, it has been great that we have been able to spend some time with the Directors of the agencies to get their perspective on how things will change going forward.”
Trident turned 10
March 2020 marked a big milestone for Trident Hospitality as we turned 10! We hosted a virtual birthday celebration, providing a chance to share some positivity during a challenging time. Many industry friends and guests dropped into our virtual party for a chat and a drink (party hats optional) to celebration our special occasion.
With October outlined as a potential month to reopen for the meetings, conferences and events industry, it’s more important now than ever before that we support each other and share advice on how to prepare for the ‘new normal’.
