Cambridge Christmas Cracker fam trip

Trident Hospitality and guests enjoyed a fantastic weekend exploring partner venues in the city...



Nine agents and partners arrived ready for a delicious buffet on Friday 16 December at the historic Madingley Hall, in time to begin the Trident Hospitality Consultant’s ‘Christmas cracker’ fam weekend in Cambridge. After some lovely food the group had great fun thanks to Melody from ‘Live the City’ and her excellent informal quiz.

The weekend gave agents and guests the opportunity to see Trident’s partner venues in the city and a chance to understand what each could offer in terms of well-equipped meeting and conference facilities, on-site accommodation and their fantastic location.

On Saturday morning guests enjoyed breakfast at Robinson College. The commercially focused, award winning venue offers year-round facilities available for meetings and events up to 390 delegates along with 220 comfortable en-suite study bedrooms on site during vacation time.

This was followed by an exclusive tour of the venue including the Crausaz Wordsworth Building which offers flexible and exclusive meeting and dining options in imaginative, high specification surroundings with the latest technology and in-house AV support.

Guests then moved on to explore the beautiful Grade II listed Westminster College set in the heat of Cambridge and eat some delicious cake! Westminster is one of the rare colleges that has accommodation available during term time along with the ability to use the College Dining Hall for gala dinners and banquets. With six meeting rooms, guests were introduced to the opportunities available at the venue which is fully equipped to cater for conferences.



Lunch was provided by Kings College in the Saltmarsh Rooms. The venue can offer accommodation for up to 200 guests, the space to hold drinks receptions for up to 1000 and dinners for 800 delegates in the outside marquee.

After discovering what Kings College had to offer, guests were free to explore the city for the rest of the afternoon.

Saturday evening guests were provided with transport, courtesy of Airport Lynx coaches, to the Corn Exchange Theatre for a performance of the show ‘Sister Act’ where they were also served a delicious selection of local homemade foods and drinks including Mulled Gin.

After a good night’s sleep in the 16th Century country house Madingley Hall, guests enjoyed a tour of the 14 meeting rooms able to accommodate between five and 90 delegates. Breakfast was served at the venue, set within seven acres of spectacular gardens and grounds, designed in the 18th century by ‘Capability’ Brown, before guests departed to spend the rest of the day independently enjoying the many sights of Cambridge.
