THC's Birmingham Scary Fam Trip

The weekend of October 29-30 saw guests from across the country arrive into Birmingham ready to explore the city's top conference venues and facilities...

More than 40 guests arrived in Birmingham on October 29 ready for Trident’s Halloween inspired scary familiarisation weekend.

The trip featured four of Trident Hospitality Consultants’ partner venues: The Birmingham REP, the IET Birmingham: Austin Court, The Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall.

On Saturday morning, guests were warmly welcomed at the Copthorne and Crown Plaza hotels by the THC team before enjoying a hearty lunch sponsored by Amadeus Caterers.

The fam trip began at The Birmingham REP where after a tour highlighting the venue's conference and meeting facilities, things started to turn a bit messy when the group entered the theatre’s Scar Bar.

Guests left looking considerably worse than before with costume cuts, scrapes and open wounds created by the REP’s talented make-up department.

The next venue for guests to explore was the Grade 1 listed Birmingham Town Hall before returning to the REP for cocktails, dinner and a choice of evening entertainment: The Exorcist show at the REP or Comedian Miles Jupp at the Town Hall.

To end the evening, everyone enjoyed after show drinks and nibbles at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, swapping their favourite stories of the day and helping to celebrate Managing Director Kevan's birthday!

Breakfast on Sunday morning was served at the IET Birmingham: Austin Court where guests enjoyed a selection of cheese, cold meats and fresh muffins before a tour of the venue’s conference facilities and a Birmingham themed quiz.

The weekend finished with an awards ceremony held on the stage at Birmingham Symphony Hall where prizes were announced for best scar, top tweets and the winning quiz team.

Throughout the weekend guests used the Twitter hashtag ‘Brumscaryfam’ to post their gruesome pictures of the scar bar, delicious food and pantomime performances.

We’ve collated a few of our favourites below – the whole collection of tweets can be seen here.
