Festive goodwill as foodbank opens at Yarnfield Park

Barratt Homes, located in the development site, have opened a foodbank collection point during the Christmas period...

With the Christmas spirit in full swing it can be easy to forget those less fortunate than you.
However one business based in Yarnfield Park has taken the season of goodwill to heart and opened up a local foodbank collection point.

Barratt Homes West Midlands has set up a foodbank at their location in the Yarnfield development park, Yarnfield Lane.

Local residents will be able to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries until Friday, December 18th.
Items collected will be donated to the Stafford Salvation Army and distributed to those in need around Yarnfield over Christmas.

It is estimated more than 13 million people are currently living below the poverty line as foodbank usage increases year on year.

A spokesperson for The Salvation Army thanked Barratt Homes and all of those who wished to donate and help others this Christmas.

Food items being donated should be non-perishable such as UHT or powdered milk, tinned vegetables, rice, pasta, tinned soups, jam, biscuits, porridge, cereals, tea/coffee and tinned fish. Other useful items that can help families in need include sanitary products, toiletries and pet food.
