Discover more about Britain's first female PM' on the new Stoke Rochford Hall Tour in Grantham...

The historic Stoke Rochford Hall, Grantham, is launching it’s new ‘Iron Lady’ tour exploring the early life of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. On the 13th October it would have been the 90th birthday of the first female prime minister for Britain.

The tour will explore Thatcher, a former Grantham grocer’s daughter, first home, her school and also a visit to the Grantham museum to visit an exhibition delving deeper into her life and career - including information on the Margaret Thatcher statue campaign.  Other exhibitions at the museum are also available to view including the D-Day and Dambusters exhibition.

Back at the hotel, there will be the opportunity for a historical tour of Stoke Rochford Hall, a Grade 1 listed Victorian Mansion House sitting in 28 acres of private parkland.

Listed to how the building was once a Roman Villa, the location for a series of noble houses and for 18 months in World War II housed the headquarters of the Second Battalion of the Parachute Regiment.

In 2015, Stoke Rochford Hall now offers 20 high quality mansion bedrooms with 76 standard rooms, along with a leisure club, heated covered pool and extensive gym.

The ‘Iron Lady’ tours include a two night stay, dinner and breakfast and are available for independent travellers and for group visits.
