Anything but a 'boaring' race...

We're not telling porkies, the Wild Boar Chase was packed with competitors on Sunday 17 May...

The greatly anticipated Wild Boar Chase took place on Sunday 17 May in the Forest of Dean.

Hundreds of competitors turned up armed with their trusty mountain bikes to take part in the annual racing event.

The race began at the Speech House Hotel with hotel owners Gill and Peter Hands starting the race at 10am.

The Wild Boar Chase is a mountain bike challenge using Forest tracks and Bridleways with short sections of quiet roads in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Competitors had the option to ride 21, 26, 40 or 45 miles in this beautiful area.

Organisers of the event, The Lions clubs of the Forest of Dean, said all riders should have been able to complete the demands of the 'Boar'.
